Caregiver List & Helping Hands Registry

The Oceana County Council on Aging maintains a directory of people who are willing to provide needed services for our area seniors. The two directories are the Caregiver List and the Helping Hands Registry. The individuals on these lists are not employees of the Oceana County Council on Aging. They are privately hired, with all payment activity strictly between the person on the directory and those who privately hire them. We collect and distribute the information to those who need it.  Michigan State criminal background checks have been run and passed by everyone included on these lists.

Caregivers are those who can be privately hired by the client or clients family to assist in a variety of ways. They can provide respite care, personal care, cleaning, errands, etc. Detailed service information of what each individual can provide is included on the list. Other information included with the list is: desired pay rate, contact information and references.

Our Helping Hands Registry includes the names of individuals who provide chore services. These services include but are not limited to: lawn care, snow removal, leaf removal, gardening, small in-home repairs, window washing, transportation, errands, cleaning and interior painting. Other information included with the list is contact information, previous employment, references and desired pay rate.

Each person included in our registry fills out a detailed application, some people even include resumes. We do not send copies of these out with the actual list. However, people interested in hiring someone are more than welcome to stop by the office and look over this information.
